Superior Hospice Services

Our People Make the Difference

Superior Hospice provides hospice care primarily designed to enhance the quality of life of patients facing life-limiting illness. It is our objective to help reduce the stress and pressure on our patients and their families, allowing them to make the most of their remaining time together. Superior’s interdisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, spiritual counselors and volunteers manage the entire spectrum of challenges and needs related to a terminal diagnosis.

Just as terminally ill patients need support, so do their families and loved ones. Superior Hospice works with those closest to our patients, helping them understand the needs of their loved one as well as their own grief process.

Nurses

Our highly trained registered nurses (RN) and licensed practical nurses (LPN) provide individualized care based on each person’s unique needs. They are dedicated to each patient’s plan of care, pain control and comfort. The nurses are not only trained on care and treatment for the patient, but also support for the family. Our nurses are available 24/7.

Social Workers

Our social workers help patients and their families navigate planning for end-of-life. They assist in managing financial, emotional, family and crisis situations. They serve as advocates and offer available resources.

Spiritual Support

Our chaplains provide spiritual guidance for the patient and family. They provide non-denominational spiritual support regardless of a person’s religious affiliation or beliefs.

Home Health Aides

Our aides help with personal hygiene needs, feeding and light housekeeping. In addition to our nurses, our trained home health aides provide emotional support to the patient and family.

Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy

These services provide comfort for physical issues at the end of life. Our trained staff utilizes therapeutic measures useful in relieving pain and promoting overall comfort.

Nutritional Counseling

Each patient’s nutritional needs are unique. Our trained staff form an individualized plan of care based on his or her needs.

Bereavement

Our licensed staff is trained in assisting with the management of grief emotions. These include but are not limited to anxiety, guilt or fear that one may experience with the loss of a loved one.

Bereavement counseling, often referred to as support counseling, helps those with emotional and psychological stresses following the death of a loved one. Our bereavement team will assist with transition services including outreach, counseling and referral resources.
